The evening of 31st October this year was far from being a haunting experience for Tarn Bacon, Apprentice in HW Martin (Plant) Ltd, as he attended the annual Apprentice of the Year Awards and Graduation Ceremony at the Tortworth Court Hotel in Bristol.
Tarn Bacon was among over 300 people at the Awards night, because for an impressive second year running, Tarn was nominated for the Award by City of Bristol College.
Geoff Kearsley, Operations Manager at HW Martin (Plant) Ltd, commented: “He finished a very commendable 4th, just out of the prizes. I am sure you will all join me in congratulating Tarn on this achievement and wishing him good luck for next year – when we hope to see him in 1st place!”
Tarn has been with the company for two years and is one of many apprenticeships the Martin Group has supported since its establishment. The company participates in the DAF Trucks National Dealer Apprentice Programme, which was launched in 1995 and has trained over 1,200 apprentices. The Programme is run in partnership with DAF Trucks, nationwide dealerships, the City of Bristol College and Skillnet.
The Martin Group is proud of the continuing effort and achievement of its valued staff and looks forward to an award-winning 2013.
