The company recently gave its thanks to John Bentley, who left HW Martin after a long and hard-working career as a vehicle technician.
John has spent the last 11 years as an integral part of HW Martin (Plant) Ltd’s vehicle workshop staff in his capacity as a Fitter and Chargehand. During the majority of that time John was one of the company’s vital full-time night-shift staff, responsible for keeping the operation moving 24/7 when most of us are tucked up in bed. So on Monday there were many words of appreciation and good wishes for John, as he cut his specially-made cake to mark the end of his working career and the beginning of a long and enjoyable retirement.
At the reception to mark his departure Geoff Kearsley, Operations Manager for HW Martin (Plant) Ltd, spoke of John’s dedication:
“John was a valuable asset to our highly competent and close-knit team of technicians. He will be sorely missed both as a professional and as a great character to work with. He was a hard worker and now that he suddenly has a lot of spare time on his hands it will be interesting to see how he chooses to spend it. Well done John and good luck for the future.”
